Is Patched free?
Yes. Creating a profile, browsing, and messaging are free. We may add optional premium features later, but the core experience will always be accessible.
Which conditions count?
All of them, and none of them. Eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, TSW, vitiligo, dermatitis, scarring, alopecia, and many more. You can also join as an ally, friend, partner, or professional.
Do I have to disclose my skin condition?
Never. Sharing your condition is completely optional. You control whether it appears on your profile, when you mention it, and who you tell.
Who sees my condition if I do share it?
Only people viewing your profile. We do not surface your condition to employers, search engines, or anyone outside the app. You can remove it anytime.
Is Patched an app or a website?
Right now Patched is a web app you can use in any browser. A native app is on the roadmap, but the website works on mobile just like one.
What cities is Patched available in?
Everywhere. Patched uses your location to show nearby people, so it works whether you are in a big city or a smaller town. You can also set your own search distance.
Is my data sold?
No. We do not sell your personal data, your photos, or your activity. Your information is used only to help you meet people on Patched.
How does matching work?
When two people like each other, they Patch. For dating, we check mutual preferences like age, gender, and intentions. For friends, the matching is more relaxed. Either way, both people have to say yes.
